Governors
The Trustees (The English Dominican Congregation (Stone) Charitable Fund) set up and operate:
St Rose’s Nursery
St Rose’s School
St Rose’s Post-16
St Martin’s College for 19-25 year olds
The Trustees have delegated the governance of St Rose’s & St Martin’s to the Governing Body, which comprises Foundation Governors and representatives from Parents, Staff and the Local Authority.
All Governors are appointed/elected for a term of four years, but can be eligible for further appointment.
All Governors are required to declare any interests (pecuniary or other) at all meetings.
As in all schools the three core strategic functions of the Governing Body are to:
- Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction including long term planning.
- Hold the Head of School to account for the educational performance of the school and its students.
- Oversee the financial performance of the school, ensuring its money is well spent.
Our Governors provide excellent support and challenge to the school; they work closely with individual staff members and rigorously monitor the school’s strengths and areas for further development.
