Work Related Learning
St Rose’s aims to ensure a high quality of careers education and information about community engagement activities for young people with special educational needs, to be delivered in a meaningful way that is age appropriate, sensitive to their circumstances, and meets their needs.
Our vision is to make students aware of all the opportunities available to them to engage in meaningful employment, volunteering or community engagement, and to support their ambitions and aspirations for their future life.
Students are supported through their Education, Health and Care plans, Individual Plans, external agencies, internal opportunities for work experience and social enterprise activities planned across the school year. These activities enable them to learn the skills and develop the independence they need to lead a rich and rewarding adult life.
This program of learning about the opportunities for meaningful engagement with society are embedded throughout the curriculum from Reception to Year 11, and are supported by trips, visits to the local community and visitors to school.
