Quentin House

Quentin House – Why it is so important

St Rose’s urgently needs to raise £1,690,200 to remodel its residential accommodation. Those of you who know the school, will know it has been extended over many years and areas such as the residential accommodation, are in need of significant refurbishment and repair.

The needs of our children and young people have become increasingly complex and we now need to update the facilities so that our children and young people can develop their independence skills and flourish in an environment that meets their needs.

Families value the opportunity for their children to have this time away from home, enabling them to develop their skills and achieve their potential in an environment where they are supported by skilled staff. They have peace of mind and confidence that staff have the expertise required, allowing them time to spend time with siblings or to recharge their batteries!

When built, Quentin House will be warm, welcoming and homely. It will have adapted bedrooms, bathrooms, a playroom, a sensory room and highly trained staff who can care for children who have complex health and care needs.

The project will enable us to:

  • Separate the residential accommodation from the school. Everyone needs a place to call home
  • Create additional bedrooms, doubling the number of students we can accommodate
  • Increase the size of bathrooms, bedrooms, doorways and corridors so they are wheel chair-friendly, fit for purpose and safe
  • Create a welcoming, modern environment with bespoke lighting, acoustics and colours for children who have sensory processing difficulties
  • Upgrade our heating and lighting to become more eco-friendly and energy efficient.

The project will have 3 key phases, we aim to start building Quentin House in February 2021 and planned completion date for Phase 1 is November 2021.

Why we need your help

Quentin House will be a place, all children can learn to cook, to look after themselves, to laugh with friends and spend quiet time in their own bedroom. That’s why we’re asking for your donations and support for our Quentin House Appeal to raise the £1,690,200 needed to build the new facility.

We believe it will be like nowhere else. A uniquely special, state of the art home-from-home.

Your donation will make this happen. Thank you.

St Rose’s aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that offers stimulating opportunities appropriate to the needs of our students.

A team of experienced therapists are employed directly by the school to work alongside education and care staff. Collaborative therapy and sharing that knowledge is integral to the work of our school.

When a child or young person is happy, they have the best chance of progressing and achieving their goals. Ensuring that your child’s emotional needs are met is as important as their physical requirements.
