The Friends of St Rose’s became a registered charity with the Charities Commission in 2020;
Each year the ‘Friends’ raise money to buy specialist equipment for the children and students at St. Rose’s and St. Martins through an exciting programme of fundraising events, that many of you look forward to. This year, sadly, the pandemic has prevented us from getting together for the Classic Car Show our usual summer fete and coffee mornings! But we have been busy planning for when life returns to something like ‘normal.’ Our Income from events has grown over recent years thanks to the wonderful generosity of our supporters so, we decided it was about time to register as a charity to continue to give our donors the confidence we are handling their money properly! As a registered charity we can also claim Gift Aid which means we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated by anyone in the UK who is a taxpayer.
The ‘Friends have also become a member of Parentkind; the leading organisation for parent teacher associations in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The benefits of membership include access to expert advice and information, insurance cover and funding opportunities.
We have missed you! And plans are already underway for a full programme of exciting events in 2021 and look forward to welcoming everyone back at St. Rose’s.
